Welcome to Troop 1969

Welcome to the website for BSA Troop 1969. Located in Stanton, New Jersey, our goal is to give the scouting experience to all scouts who wish to join our troop, and help them advance through the ranks of scouts. On our website, we share information with each other about our upcoming meetings and events, as well as share our most recent higlights with each other. Since 1969, Troop 1969 has been a strong and active boy-led troop.  Boys ages 11-18 who want to get outside, be with friends, go on adventures, try new things, grow as leaders, and serve our community are invited to contact Scoutmaster Bill Wallace to learn more about meeting times/locations/and activities.

Outdoor Meetings Continue during Winter: Troop 1969 Scouts practice the "out" in "scouting"

Troop 1969 scouts continue to make the best of our current situation as they meet outdoors.  Creative planning and solid leadership have resulted in troop meetings that provide an opportunity to practice important life-long skills, provide opportunity for advancement, and give scouts some much-needed time to be together with their peers.

   

October Camping: Hickory Run State Park

Troop 1969 traveled to Hickory Run State Park for its October camping trip.  The scouts enjoyed a fall weekend, hiking to Hawk Falls and scrambling over rocks at the Boulder Field. 

   

Troop Meeting: Dutch Oven Dessert Cook-off!

Tuesday Troop Meetings at Stanton Reformed Church.  The judges chose the Sprite Apple Cake as the best dessert. The chocolate s'mores dessert had the best presentation and the angel food s'more cakes was the most creative.

  

Back to Camping: September Camping at Ockanickon

Troop 1969 hosted Webelos Scouts for wilderness survival skills; went on a camp hike; played Gaga; held a tomahawk tournament; and cooked pizza pot pies in a reflector oven and chocolate cake in a Dutch oven.
